Over many years, the Virgin Islanders have been fighting for the right to vote for their president, but were denied this privilege many times. However, I believe statehood would be able to solve this situation. This would mean that the U.S Virgin Islands will have the right to vote for the next U.S president, debt will be handled more efficiently, and better health care will be provided. There are lots of other advantages for being a state, but these three topics are the most important ones. If the U.S Virgin Islands can succeed with becoming a state, imagine how much life will improve for you and I.

As we all know, there was a hearing about how we will possibly have short school days, meaning that teachers will get payed less! The government is showing that they are running out of money, and we might end up like Puerto Rico sooner than we expected. This is where statehood occurs once again. There will be more tax revenue coming in, meaning that an income will be gained through taxes. The U.S will be providing most of this, since it will be equally shared throughout the states. Also, keep in mind that America in a whole can pay our debt, they have more money than the U.S Virgin Islands. When all of this takes effect, the economy will boost up at an enormous rate. This will cause more businesses to come in, meaning more job opportunities. In addition, minimum wage will be raised. Isn’t that a marvelous thing? Teachers will get paid what they deserve, after all, they deal with unruly kids every day. Statehood sounds like a wonderful thing at this point, don’t you
