For example, in the state of California, there are set limits for how much an individual can contribute to political parties and candidates (Adams 2015). On the other hand, there are no limitations for the amount of money that can be contribute to ballot initiatives. In essence, if a ballot initiative had the right kind of monetary support, they could use as much money as they would like and chances are that the initiative will make the ballot and possibly even be voted into action. This no limit contribution poses as a serious disadvantage in which any initiative can go through if there is substantial funding present. Essentially, non-relevant issues can be put on the ballot simply if an interest group starting the iniatiatve has enough funds. This is unfair because legislative bills are all financially regulated and given fund limitations which evens the playing field between all legislative
