Review of Three Diet Protocols
1. Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian calories intake is 19% for a calorie level of 1000, that consist of 1 cup of fruits, 3oz of grain, 2 cups of dairy, 1 oz of protein and 15g of oil. The Mediterranean calories intake consist of 15% that includes 1 cup of vegetable, 1 cup of fruits, 3oz of grains, 2 cups of dairy, 2oz of protein and 15g of oil, these numbers are also from a calorie level of 1000. People that consume a moderate amount of carbs in the paleo diet is about 15-30% and this is for women that are on a 2000 daily carb intake and for men that consume a 2600 calorie intake.

However; what make them so different from one another is the fact that the Mediterranean diet also encourage their audience to eat fish, seafood and in moderation red meat. This diet also contain a moderate intake of red wine, according to mayo clinic there are some research that have proven that alcohol has been associated with reducing heart disease. Healthy fat such as olive oil are also encourage in this diet, there are claims that will state that healthy fat such as olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil have the ability to keep one full and fueled longer.
• The Paleo diet is different from the first two diets. It encourages saturated fat, its low in carbohydrate, high in fat; contain a moderate amount of animal protein, fruits and vegetables. Unlike, the Mediterranean diet the Paleo diet encourage people to use a generous amount of lard, however; the lard has to be from healthy well-treated animals. • Unlike the Lacto-Ovo vegetarian diet, dairy is eliminated in the Paleo diets, cereal grain, legumes, added sugar, and all vegetable oil. Legumes are eliminated in the Paleo diet because it has phytic acid. Phytic acid is known to bind with the nutrients in the food which prevent the human body from absorbing them. Research has shown that people that switch their diet to vegetarian reduced their risk for some cancer, they will have few digestive problems because the higher fiber intake in their diet, and it reduce their chance of becoming obese because their total intake of fat has been reduced.
