1. The Declaration of Independence is a formal statement declaring our freedom of the thirteen colonies from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson in the year of 1776. The United States is called the land of Opportunity or the New Eden because many immigrants present the life options they may have not seen in their counties. Also many people thought American Literature such as, but not limited to all people are equal. There was independence which was valued to the american dream that is attainable, and everyone can succeed with hard work or determination. So what are American dreams in the Declaration of Independence? American dreams in the Declaration of Independence are “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” A big word that was written in the Declaration of Independence is inalienable. The second component is about optimism and progress. Joseph Bruchac was an author who wrote The Sun Still Rises in the Same Sky a Native American Literature. In this story Native Americans couldn’t really understand the English language. Native Americans had to use translation because none of them new the english language. English was not an oral tradition in america or even other countries. These Native Americans made progress over the years to learn english and finally they did but it was a struggle over years. There were no books, dictionaries, and notebooks back in the Native American time. So many just had to learn from englishmen from other counties. If you didn’t speak english you had a tough time making it through life. Life consists of speaking to others. Another thing the Native Americans used was they made taught each other moral lessons and convey information about their own
