Image your life turned upside down once your mother had passed away. The book I decided to for my February book report was called The Storyteller by Patricia Reilly Giff and it is historical fiction. In the book the setting is in both modern day time period, and the beginning as well as end of the Revolutionary War. Things aren't so great for a young girl named Elizabeth. Her mother died and her dad is going on a business trip, leaving Elizabeth with her aunt who she hardly knows. She's very nervous about living with her. The worst part about the situation is that she has to switch schools. But there is not much she can do now. The main characters in The storyteller are Elizebeth, Zee, and Elizabeth's aunt. The relationships between Elizabeth and her aunt are uncomfortable for the first couple weeks she is with her, but after a few weeks they figure out that they are very much alike, and they discover a …show more content…
I learned that the time period of the Revolutionary war was from 1775-1783 and there were over 217,000 troops who fought. The most fascinating thing I learned about the Revolutionary war was that the first shots fired were on April 19, 1775 in Lexington. But overall, I learned about the harsh times that the soldiers had to go through the fight for Independence. The book, The Storyteller relates to the story because it all started when Elizabeth went to live with her aunt and sees a picture of her anster zee. Elizabeth she's the picture hanging in her aunt's house. Which causes Elizabeth and her aunt to dig deeper and find a bunch of information, and uncover Zee’s story of survival during the Revolutionary War. The more Elizabeth's discovers about her ancestor, she also discovers more about herself. In the book, The Storyteller there is a bunch of information that forms a story that can tell a bunch of people about their family history. For

In between she writes about her life in the point of views of a dependent, a growing writer, and a teacher, with short descriptions that gives the reader a glimpse of her mentality on each stage. The War of 1812 was the end of the American Revolution because not only did the American people recognize that they were their own nation, but due to earning respect through two defeats of the British, many countries recognized America as its own independent country with their own identity as well.…
