The Revolutionary War, a legendary battle of independence fought by the Americans seeking freedom from the British empire. The Patriots had some ups and downs throughout the war and so did the British. The Patriots had many advantages and disadvantages that affected the war along with the British. It was an amazing fight for both sides. First off, the Patriots did not have many advantages in this war. One advantage may be that they were fighting on their own land. Some British advantages were that they had a well-trained army and strong navy. This was an advantage because they soldiers knew what they were doing while in battle. Also, some other advantages may be that they had wealth, this was an advantage because it gave Britain the power to sustain its army throughout the war. The British had a huge population also. This was good because they had more people to recruit for their army. The British had many great advantages that held them up throughout the war.
Lastly, the British had some disadvantages also. One disadvantage is that it was on foreign land. This factor affected the British because not only did they have to send supplies overseas, they also did not know the terrain so they were easily ambushed. Another disadvantage was that they relied on Hessians as soldiers. The Hessians were not recruited and were payed to fight in this war which drained some of Britain’s money.
All in all, both sides had many advantages and disadvantages that put them through over 7 years of fighting. It all ended when the Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3, 1783. The Americans won their independence, but both sides put up a good
