This is a question that has been repeatedly asked during the last years. It all begun with the Apollo 11, which was the first step in sending mankind into space. Since then, the possibilities to inhabit another planet had been open. NASA has made missions to Mars, our closest neighbor planet, since not so long ago. Even there are plans to make a human colony on its surface. But, will it be possible?
There had been probes on its surface, checking conditions, while here on Earth the future “martians” are under strict training, prepared to leave a mark on history. By now, the colonizing of Mars is still far away, and thinking of other solar systems is still crazy, but once we make the first step, the gate will be open.
If we begin talking about other solar systems, we should focus on our …show more content…
This movie shows how a man (Mark Watney) is left behind on Mars on a mission after a storm hits Mars´ surface (which, according to scientific studies, won´t happen so hard as in the movie, due to Mars´ low atmospheric pressure). He then has to find a way to survive until his crew comes back to rescue him, which happens almost a year later. Some of the things he does to stay alive are making a potato crop (which scientist assure that can be possible) and finding the probe Mars Pathfinder. He was left in this “new” planet with almost nothing: he only had a rover, solar panels, a HAB, limited food and disco music on his arsenal. If you were on his place, what would you do? I asked myself that question, and my result was making rations of food and keeping the HAB and rover “alive”. Then I could make any symbol to contact people on Earth, giving me more possibilities to return home. I could also find a nearby probe (if I knew how) to get a more solid connection with Earth. Then I could establish a meeting point with a new mission and return home
