Ladies and gentleman it is no longer science fiction or movie props; killer robots are here! Okay, maybe it’s not that dramatic, but it’s true police departments are now looking to bomb disposal robots to help them take down immediate treats that pose a danger to civilian lives (Gershgorn). Though this may seem like an easy and efficient way to decrease the causalities of innocent bystanders, questions are still being raised about the true need for the robots, whether or not human rights are being violated (Human Rights Watch), and if police should use robots to confront suspected criminals. This may be the case but in the long run the robots are doing far more good than bad (Waldman). For one, as I already stated, they are saving the lives of innocent bystanders. Also with terroristic groups targeting police officers enacting the robots would keep them off the front lines and safe when it is necessary (Nunez). Third reason- Ways they could help- in battle?
