Throughout my childhood I always felt like I had good work ethic. From the time I started school, I was always encouraged to go to college because of my drive and ambition. Education has always been a big priority in my life, as they say “knowledge is power”. My parents supported my decision to join the military and they are also proud that I am still pursuing my degree while serving my country. I always think about how things would have been if I went to UNC Wilmington or any other college in North Carolina instead of joining the military, but life can turn you in different directions and I believe everything happens for a reason.
. Joining the Navy has been the biggest milestone in my life and also my first real job. Throughout my high school years I had the experience of going on a few job interviews and I even had a part time job at a kiosk in my hometown mall for about a month. I also work for a while at my grandmother’s home healthcare business, I was also a teacher’s assistant my junior year of high school. All of the small jobs I had gave me a little idea about responsibility and work ethic, but they did not prepare me for the work force and responsibility I had to have in the U.S.
