What Is Being Stressful

A stressful situation that I have experienced was my childhood. I had rough childhood and now as an adult I feel that I need to make up for lost time and experiences I never got to have. I won’t go over the entire situation because it’s hard to speak about and explain. I experienced a lot bullying at school. At school the main reason I was bullied was because of the color of my skin and for the fact that I came from a Muslim home. Stress is defined as “a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances” (Google). At school I had a hard time learning because of the extreme amount of racism surrounding Islam because of 9/11. When 9/11 happened I was in the first grade and I didn’t understand …show more content…
It was around the time Osama Bin Laden died and he would hold up the newspaper to make fun of me. He would try to shove me and push me down when he saw me that day, he even went so far to say that he was sorry for my dad dying I said my dad is not dead he said yeah he is Osama Bin Laden is your dad and he’s dead. I went to the study class teacher and I told him I needed to go to the bathroom, instead I went to the assistant principal and I told him what happened and so did other kids. Yet again, he only gave him one day of suspension. The next day he came back he yet again tried to trip me and hit me in the hallways he said something extremely racist like he usually did so I swore at him. He went and told the assistant principal what I said and guess what the assistant principal did to me; he suspended me for 5 days. My family called the school and even got a lawyer because I wasn’t being treated right but nothing happened he got to experience high school; while mine was ruined because of all the racism I experienced not just from him but from many people around me; it got to the point where it was so bad I switched schools to get away from all the
