Speaking Kind Words Research Paper

Improved Essays
I believe in speaking kind words, its simple really, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. I believe words can hurt or heal, encourage or discourage and inspire or hinder. There are certain times in our lives where words may affect us more than other times. I believe in speaking kindly to the person at the grocery store ringing up my groceries or to the stranger I pass in the street because I just may be the only person to say anything nice to them that day or maybe the only person to say anything to them at all it makes me feel good to know that I may make their day just by saying something nice.

Yes, I believe that speaking kind words impacts people differently each and every day. I also believe words are powerful they are everywhere. The books that I read, the words I write, the lyrics in songs, the words my friends and family say to me, every day I will encounter more words and they affect me. I choose to read quotes with kind words and listen to songs with kind words because I am more receptive to kind words and I believe the more you surround yourself with kind words the more you will speak kindly to others

Speaking kindly is something virtually anyone can do and it is so awesome because it doesn’t cost a dime and you can do it anywhere.

So often I hear people speaking unkind words and I know I have been guilty of it myself in the past, but overall I do make a point to speak kindly because words are powerful and they do hurt. I wake up and start my day with words by reading inspiring quotes and then I try to take that out into the day with me and make an effort to only speak positive words for that day. I try to choose my words wisely and I believe that through my words I can change lives in ways I may never know

As we all go through life we will all undoubtedly be faced with circumstances that will make us gush with happiness, circumstances that will make us cry from the pits of our souls, and circumstances that will make us want to scream from the highest peak of the mountains. And during all these circumstances many people find themselves awash and looking for wisdom. Wisdom from individuals who have, for instance, already conquered life themselves. For me when I am in one of these situations I look for wisdom from one of my longtime heroes Dr. Martin Luther King jr.…

The idea of how just a couple words or small actions can completely turn another person’s world upside down is almost mind boggling. However, people only realize this when they get hurt or humiliated, but they are inflicting this pain onto others they decide not to care. The same effect takes place with positivity. People do not realize how amazing they can make another person feel until someone else passes in this happiness to them. The effect that others can have on each other is either extremely beautiful or awfully horrid.…

I believe that every day we have the power to make the world into a better place. Whether it's by saying "please" or "thank you", recycling one can of soda, or just paying someone a compliment, these forms of kindness is what unify our community and inspire us to be good citizens. Growing up my father informed me that "In America, there are no such things as friends and life is always a competition. " This was very puzzling to me as a child because I understood that competition is what drives our society forward, but I never accepted the fact that solidarity was the way to success. Did having all A's and having immense power in class rankings define success?…

We Have Become Uncivil: This I Believe Sometimes I think the world has not even discovered the word or meaning of kindness, and some people never really learn about it. There are many occurrences that I have noticed that a lot of people today are becoming more uncivil, rude to others and do not have and no patients for anyone in today. It could also be the society we live in every day that could change people to be rude and short with others but whatever the reason. We have all become uncivilized.…
