SNC did not task his team members because he did not have an initial plan other than posting security. As SNC approached the obstacle he asked for suggestions from the team and they began to engage the obstacle as the team developed a plan. SNC did communicate with the team but not direct in any manner. SNC used words such as "Do you think we," "If you can could you" and “If you want to." SNC let the team take the lead and drive the actions to overcome the obstacle. It was not apparent who was in charge of the fire team. As friction points were encountered SNC offered suggestions as to what course of action could be attempted to move

Candidate Garnica delivered a five paragraph order that lacked information and used filler words while briefing. She maintained good eye contact with the members of her team and was confident in her delivery. SNC failed to brief any of the "admin and logistics" and "command and signal" paragraphs. Although Candidate Garnica briefed a scheme of maneuver during the brief, it was obvious that she had not created an actual plan before beginning the execution.
