Similarities Between Crumb And Harvey Pekar

The question is do you think that it is important Robert Crumb and Harvey Pekar were part of the underground comic scene and for years no one knew of the two of them. For me personally I think they were very important because now they're getting a lot of attention for their works. If that doesn't make someone believe that there important then I don't know what can . For their styles are similar they oddly complement one another and honestly they make a good team depending on how you think about it. I really learned a lot about these two artist and I have lots of things I want to incorporate in my work. I believe that the line dictates everything when it comes to any medium so I want to draw as much as Crumb does. The main thing I really pulled away from the documentary was the drive they have for their craft. And it shows through Crumb’s life the more you work the more things will come and the more skilled you will be in the art of your choice. Another thing I really like was how humble he was at first. You can't let your ego get in the way of your art or you will be trying to please everyone. Crumb really made his art for himself to share with others in the form of graphic narratives and such. In a lot of my work i have trouble finding the balance between social and personal feeling giving off in my work but watching this i really learned that's not what it's about when it comes to stylized drawing it's about the emotional qualities and the beauty in one's work. If people like it people like it. After watching this film I want to get better at drawing a moving person. Crumb was very good at just drawing an almost still from a cinematic camera roll when he was drawing people in
