Mueck began making sculptures out of latex but soon switched his material when he caught the attention of fiberglass resin that was incorporated into a wall at a boutique. I believe that he embodies something different then all of the other artists I have studied thus far. As I was searching through the various pictures on the internet of his sculptures, I was truly stunned at how life-like they look. With each sculpture I looked at I took on a different set of emotion every time. When looking at the dead body one I instantly felt sad, disturbed, and a little dark and twisted. When I looked at “Ghost” I felt her pain and insecurity as it is written all over her face. Finally, when looking at “mother and baby” I thought about what that mother must have been feeling, how happy and over joyed it must have been for her to have just gave birth. It is not just emotion that Mueck brings out of the people that observe his work, but the sheer though that we are all but a speck in this gigantic world compared to the large scale sculptures he
