Bullying is quite a common issue in grade schools and there’s a lot of factors that cause it to happen. Typically, it's a combination of social status, family problems, culture, and their environment. Their peers may be pressuring them to do something or their parents might be aggressive to them, thus it becomes a learned behavior. Additionally, if their society isn't very accepting of people, they're more likely to be hostile to those who surround them. In addition, if the atmosphere of where they live is unpleasant, they will resort to harassing others to feel better about themselves. Now, this raises the question among the public, should there be harsher punishments for bullying?
Many people think there should be "rough" penalties for bullies, but it could be argued that they have the same amount of problems as the victim, just in a different way. In this example, the students can have a professional give them advice on how to handle the situation and understand the motivations behind the bully. Perhaps it'll lead to friendships blossoming and empathy growing stronger rather than having fights plus being hurtful towards
