From bacteria to animals, earth is a planet which is home to many different lifeforms. An example of this is the Selachimorpha, commonly known as a shark and the Homo Sapien, commonly known as a human. The sharks and humanity are both similar and different in several ways. The living environments are noticeably different, as one species lives in the ocean and the other lives on the land. Sharkwater Rhetorical Analysis Sharkwater is a 2006 documentary created by Rob Stewart, a young biologist and underwater photographer. Being passionate about the ocean and those who inhabit it, Stewart created his documentary with the intention of destroying the bad reputation that society and the media has put on sharks. Stewart also highlights in his documentary how humans have cruelly made sharks the prey and the enemy for decades. Ethos, pathos, and logos played a very important role in Sharkwater, and was strategically used throughout the documentary in order to persuade the audience that sharks aren’t the enemy, and shouldn’t be treated as such. Pathos, the appeal to one’s emotions, was heavily relied on throughout the documentary in…

for example, “Sandbar Sharks move between the northeastern United States and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, a distance of about 5,600 km (3,480 miles) (Helfman)”. Sharks will either cross oceans for migration or they will stick to the coast, but either way they can travel thousands of miles for migration. Vertical migrators do not travel great distances along coasts or across oceans like horizontal migrators, but more impressively, these migrators are experiencing a drastic change in temperatures and pressure. Vertical migrators dive down and resurface over hundreds of meters within a short amount of time, for example, “White Sharks may move up and down between the surface and 200-m (660-ft) depths as often as 96 times in 24 hours (Helfman).”…

“ I couldn’t possibly write Jaws today at least, not in a good conscience anyway,” said Peter Benchley, the author of Jaws. On the other hand, all sharks are different from each other, just like the saying “no two snowflakes are the same” I think it’s the same with sharks no two sharks are the same. However, sharks make me think because they all have their own different identities and none are exactly the same and I wish to have a baby shark sometime in my lifetime. Better yet, I would want a great white shark and when it gets big enough that it won't fit in a fish tank I will take it to the ocean and it can have free reign of which aquatic animals it wants to eat and which ones it doesn’t want to eat. Great white sharks are very unique.…
