I did well with the explanatory synthesis because I found credible authors who have dealt with this issue for a long time. They have either taught or researched in the area of Biology. Its strengths were the section where I discussed what all the authors agreed on. I used quotes and examples from each author. This includes a quote from Randy Moore, a professor of Biology at the University of Minnesota who explains the importance of evolution in this quote, “Evolution is the cornerstone of biology and one of the most powerful, exciting, and well-supported laws in modern science. I found plenty of sources supporting evolution and its credibility. I need to work hard to find more sources to complete the claim that evolution and creationism deserve equal time in the classroom. I talk about the struggle to support creationism in my explanatory and synthesis and how a mere 13% of educators advocate for this theory in their classrooms. This number needs to change. We need more teachers advocating for evolution and creationism not one or the other.
