Every year in November kids everywhere rejoice at the mere thought of Thanksgiving break. To some it means the beautiful bliss of at least a day off work, but to most Americans it means spending time with loved ones, eating good food, football games, and just appreciating the little things we have in every day life that others do not. We all have reason to to be thankful. At my house we have our own special traditions and foods that we always eat, just like everyone else. Today I am going to share with you some of those traditions, foods, and other special things we did this year.
Thanksgiving day is always very busy, but somehow Mum always makes time to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. If I get up in time I watch a bit too. This year we watched about an hour of it. Then after Mum goes back to the kitchen. That’s when Dad and I watch the International Dog Show, we like to laugh at the funny looking breeds and point out the cutest ones. Our puppy, Lady, is part Alaskan Malamute (she is absolutely loving this cold weather!) and we were very happy to see two of those dogs in the working animals category.

The table cloth had little turkeys you could color in or games like tic-tac-to and word searches for them to do. That was a huge hit. Mum mad rice for them, because they don’t really eat what we do, living in Texas and all. But Celeste did eat over half of the turkey! AThen after the luncheon we sat and talked for a while, had pie and Mum brought out my white pumpkin with the words “what are you thankful for” on it and Sharpie markers.
