Reflection On Experience Analysis

John Dewey said “ we do not learn from experience… we learn from reflection on experience”. By using John Dewey as my motto, I always reflect on my days, and my life, hoping that my life experience will teach me something in order for me to become a better person. By reflecting on my experience I learn a lot from it, especially from this class. The reason I am studying global studies is because I wanted to learn more about the world issue, learn more about other culture and gain more understanding and knowledge of the world culture. For me Global Studies is a very fascinating subject, because it’s not only teaches me about culture differences in the world, but it also teaches me about history, politic and as well as the economics in different countries. Another reason I am taking this class is because, I think it’s important to understand other culture as much as our own. Throughout our life and career in today 's world, we will encounter different kind of people from different areas and different background, and it’s important that we understand them and their culture.
Throughout my life, I always wanted to help people and the environment, but I never know how I should do to help. I do not know how much I can be helpful to both the people and the environment until I take this class. This Global Studies class really shapes my life in a way I couldn’t even know how to describe it. I am not only learn academically, but socially and ethically. Many students might describe this class differently, however, for me this class is such a safe house for me. This class not only focusing on teaching the subject, but also focus on the social environment. Occasionally, the professor would tells us to communicate and discusses our idea about the topic we learned from the class with either a small group of people or a pair. I think that is what make this class really different from my other class. By sharing our ideas and thought with one person in the classroom, we come to know each other and get more comfortable toward one another. People might laugh inside their lung when I say I get more comfortable toward other, because they barely see me talk in the classroom. For me talking too much or talking in front of people is not really a thing where I came from. I was told that “ Be a good listener is more important a talker” and I think that become my habit. Anyway, I might not talk a lot in the classroom, but there are thing that I learned from my others classmate. I learned that we may be different, we may come from different background, but we want the same thing in life and that is education. Honestly, I am really thankful to a professor for making this

I waste water and I have never realized it until we learn water footprint in class. Learning water footprint in the classroom makes me want to become a new person. After I watch the video in the classroom about water footprint, I realized that I needed to take action by changing my old habit of wasting stuff to a new habit of valuing the resources. Michael Jackson said, “ If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make the change”. So I thought it was time for me to take action and be a 1% that will make the change in the

That starts with making a personal commitment to not buy or drink bottled water unless the water in your community is truly unhealthy. Yes, it takes a bit of foresight to grab a reusable bottle on the way out, but I think we can handle it”(64). This is one suggestion that can be applied in real life, even though it will be a big sacrifice for some people who are used to buying bottled of water and don’t like tap water. But the sacrifice will give a positive outcome in our environment, and there will also be less pollution by using reusable…

Title goes here Waste has, undoubtedly, a very big impact on the current Global Warming phenomenon. Many political figures and environmental activists have called for a change in our habits as consumers to reduce the amount of waste that we produce. However, can we as individuals have a significant impact on the overall waste reduction? Or does this task belong to the large corporations and politicians that really have the power to make a difference? In the essays “Forget Shorter Showers” by Derrick Jensen and “Waste Not, Want Not” by Bill Mckibbens, both authors address the impact of waste reduction as part of the solution to the problem.…

I can truly remember a lot of school events and encounters that assisted and helped me to achieve and or what helped me to develop my education goals and what helped produce who I am today as a person. The teachers attitude towards me and the materials presented. Also the love that the teachers showed in making sure that I understood and applied the material that I supposed to gain are elements that influence my education and my life today. The superlative significance lesson that I learned is to never give up on a student and my children and for me to do all that I know and can do for my students and children. Our textbook states that “ Clearly, the types of nonparental experiences that children have with other adults influence not only…

Other things, in my opinion, cause this resume to be ineffective is that she should place the education background somewhere visible and to highlight it. When I glanced at her resume, I personally did not recognize her education background until I reread it multiple times. And before I saw her education information, I intentionally want to suggest that she should put education background into the resume, which she had done already. One more thing, she did not fully explain her roles for each job in the Related experience, what she was in charge of, specifically. For instance, when I read her experience as production assistant, I want to know if she takes care of filming the season 45, video editing, scening setup or in what way she handled…

Part of your most recent plan was to be here now, you chose this human existence that you are currently experiencing, you pre- planned every detail of your life in order to gain the maximum learning and adventure, and you choose to exit when you have completed all the experiences you planned for yourself. The world away from this world (the universe) is not separate from us, it is not some far away mystery; it is a logical, functioning, populated, progressive, divine place! Much like here on earth (without all the stuff), except here on earth we have temporarily forgotten the divine and infinite bits of ourselves! If I can be a bit honest here, as humans we have become self-obsessed, self-absorbed and rather blinded by our own self-importance.…

The Earth is currently facing detrimental environmental issues. These issues have been evident for decades; however, many people have continuously denied them to be problematic or even their existence entirely. While these critics have managed to get away with the rejection of these problems for many years, it is no longer deniable that the issue of environmental degradation is very real and in need of immediate action. Much of the population has come to understand this, and have executed a variety of modest attempts to increase environmental sustainability. However, these efforts have demonstrated to be of minimal effect in solving the large-scale issues directly causing the degradation.…

“Forget Shorter Showers” Summary and Response Something that can seem so obvious to the majority of the world and has a very high chance to be the truth, can be heartbreaking to find out that it is not the truth. In a short article titled “Forget Shorter Showers”, Derrick Jensen illustrated to the viewers that saving the Earth should be a personal goal to all individuals in the world. He expressed this my stating a lot of ways in which the plant is suffering due to the lack of caring for the Earth. He than began to mention that the little things that seems to help with environment does next to nothing. For instance, when people recycle, reduce and reuse, these things can be lead to believe that this is a excellent way to tackle the problem.…

Throughout this course we have not only gained factual knowledge about East Asia but also a framework that we can use to understand other countries and cultures around the world. To consider ourselves global citizens, we must have an understanding of the world and the way it works. From learning about the history of East Asia, we now have a better understanding of why it works the way it does today, and that makes us less ethnocentric and more empathetic toward others. This course has allowed me the opportunity to grow more as a global citizen, and to see where I have achieved and failed at pushing to see beyond myself and be a more inclusive person. Asides from the overt growth of knowledge about East Asian and its history, I have also gained an appreciation for the past and understanding that we cannot always believe what has been told and retold throughout history.…
