Pursuing My Impossible Dream
“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” - Christopher Reeve
I have always dreamt of being a lawyer. My father once told me that with my line of reasoning I would make a fine one. I fancy myself standing in front of the court room cross-examining witnesses, prosecuting criminals, like Casey Novak in the drama, Law and Order SVU. I wanted to pursue it right after graduating in college but my dire financial capability was a major constraint. As the first child to graduate in a brood of five, I felt I had to do my share and help my mom, who single-handedly sent us to school, in sending my youngest brother to college.

I am receptive to feedback as I consider it as room for me to improve, not only for myself but for everyone else who I deal with. One particular example would be a co-worker who despite being asked by our supervisor to be trained by me, refused to do so as she felt that I was so intimidating. This was noticed by my supervisor who called my attention. I took extra effort in assisting our trainee, by answering her questions in the simplest way she can understand and in teaching her the tricks of the trade. She eventually told me that I wasn’t what she thought I was and she apologized for her misgiving. And I never had the same feedback then, even with the rest of the new agents.
Assessing myself, I think I am equipped especially with the will to pursue my personal goal, the only constraint that I think I would face is the possibility of getting pregnant as I so much wanted to have a cute little girl, that is if Our Almighty allows it. Otherwise, I am definitely happy and blessed to have my two smart kids.
As I believe that everyone has the right to defend himself, I see myself a few years from now, rendering legal services to the oppressed, particularly those who are underprivileged members of the society. As Henry Ford puts it, “To do more for the world than the world does for you - that is

o we live in reality, or is reality just a dream? In The Unavoidable Dream Problem, James T. M. Miller asks the question, can know if we are not dreaming much like Dominick Cobb did in Inception? Firstly, Miller explained why the use of a totem to confirm if you are in reality of a dream is flawed. Let’s use Cobb’s totem as an example, which is a metal, spinning top. If the top does turn forever, we know with all certainty that we are in fact in a dream because that is not possible in “reality.”…

These dreamers transformed our world and effected change for the better.
