God will re-establish His kingdom and destroy the idols people has set before Him. God will strike down the evil devices of humankind. He opposes the proud and exalts the humble. Like the prodigal son, God's people have squandered their inheritance and the land God gave them. But God is compassionate and full of mercy, and He will make a way through the wilderness once again. He will gather Israel, set them together and be at the head of them. Those appointed as leaders in the house of God, does not practice or know justice. SUMMARY OF MICAH
God's character and the sinful practices of humankind demands judgement (1:2-5; 2:3; 6:1-2, 9-11). God's judgement upon His people is brought about through the conquer of their oppressors (1:15; 4:11; 5:1, 5-6), and through curses (6:13-15) as a result of the covenant unfaithfulness of the people (6:16).
God remains true to His covenant with the people of Israel. He reaffirms that He will raise up a new King, from the line of David, who will gather and deliver those who remained faithful unto Him (2:12-13; 4:6-8; 7:14, 18). God shows covenant faithfulness in practicing justice and mercy (6:8).
The central focus of worship is the Lord (4:1-5, 7:12). The penalty of sin is overcome by the grace that flows from the abundance of the unwavering love of Christ (7:8-9). Only through God's faithfulness to His promises, has forgiveness been made possible
