Recently, the topic of Governor Christie's pocket vetoes of the "smart gun" bills has caused much controversy. This is very controversial because on one hand, some people believe smart gun technology was a transparent ploy to force market acceptance of this dangerous and unproven technology. For instance, putting delicate electronics on a device designed to contain a small explosion. Consequently, they think Governor Christie's pocket vetoes of the smart gun bills make perfect sense. As per the article," last year, there were more than 265 unintentional shootings in the country carried out by kids that left 83 people dead. That is a tragedy for sure. However, that is no doubt only a smart gun could prevent this from happening. It could make it harder for stolen guns used by criminals. My last, but perhaps the most important reason why I believe people should own a smart gun is because smart guns are not mandatory. It will be another option for gun buyers. Even though gun lobbyist are fighting the gun law. Therefore, it keeps guns out of the wrong hands, and educates children about gun safety. If we all do this it will have an important impact on our
