You’ve seen the commercials of less fortunate children who don’t have food; the commercials for animals who don’t have homes, etc. But hardly do you see commercials for children who can’t get educated. Yes, of course, everything should be taken one step at a time because you can’t fix everything at once, but it’s time for the next step in helping out less fortunate children. For years now individuals have been advertising to help less fortunate children who don’t have food; the same thing should be done with education. There are just as many children who don’t receive food as there are children who don’t receive an education. Donations have been given and children have received food so it’s working. The National Center for Education Statistics says “In school year 2011–12, some 49.5 million students were enrolled in public elementary and secondary schools” then later they follow with “..total public school enrollment is projected to increase by 5 percent, to 52.1 million students.” More and more young individuals will continue to receive free education as the years pass here in The United States. In the United States being able to get a free education is taken for granted because it is basically just given to young individuals. One may not ever realize that free education isn’t the case everywhere in the world so as psychology major my question is: what will it take to make individuals here realize that an education isn’t free everywhere? By making more individuals realize that then maybe more people will have sympathy for less fortunate children help the cause in many different ways and through many different organizations. As a psychology major I’m trying to figure out how to catch people’s attention and make them interested so an organization can receive support. Social Media is huge in today’s society. Most people are on social media every day. It is a genius way to get something out there. You can easily get information out to individuals you want to. You are allowed to target who fits a profile you want. By being able to do that makes things way more efficient. You don’t have to waste time advertising in places or to individual who wouldn’t be interested. Using Facebook’s resources is the best way to advertise, if they are used correctly. Facebook continues to grow and so do businesses that use their resources correct. Many businesses can attest to this and say the Facebook advertising helps a lot. Therefore, using Facebook is the most efficient way today to get a message out. Individuals who are interested in helping out less fortunate children can be easily targeted through Facebook. Facebook is the best way to start an organization that’s trying to help out children. With over a billion users today and many ways to categorizes members and advertise to certain individuals.
