Many of the essential values of liberalism, such as “the idea public officials should interfere in people’s private lives” (Morone & Keresh, 2014, p.37) differs from my personal views on liberalism. Although my view on liberalism might not follow the exact definition of liberalism given in By the People, I have found it to be similar enough to be considered my ideology of choice.
Even if liberalism doesn’t exactly match my views on government, there are still numerous types of liberalism (Neoliberalism, Paleoliberalism, ect.) that can be interpreted in countless ways to find an ideology that matches a person’s view on government. No matter how hard a person might look, there will never be a form of ideology that will complete coincide with that person’s view. Since like the world itself, there will change always be change.
