The time stays the time; the rushed way she speaks is constant. The Brown University black back pack that contains her life is filled to the top like normal; filled with textbooks, notebooks, clothes for the rest of the day, the bag is nearly overflowing. Seconds later the door slams shut and a voice emerges, ‘Hey I’m home! I can’t stay long though. I have to go work on the avenue, and then I’m going to the library. I’m sorry, but I have AP Chemistry work to do, and AP Comparative Government.’ The phone buzzes. ‘Oh my gosh! I forgot that I even have AP US Government to do! I just got a

I Corinthians 9:24 states, “Do you not know that those who run a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you obtain it”. The most eventful thing I have done this summer was going to Turkey Run. It’s two hours away from Wheatfield, and it’s in Marshall. The drive was pretty long on the way there, my mom had to run an errand or two and then we went to McDonalds for lunch. Then we just continued our drive there. We entered a different time zone on the way there, it was an hour ahead than the time here in Jasper County.…

I once thought I couldn’t believe in myself! I felt as if I were nothing but a sheet of glass that was completely useless. When there were gloomy days, I felt like broken glass that was scattered all over the ground and I wouldn’t be fixable. So I thought if I joined a sport, I would then, have no choice but to believe that I can do more and accomplish more, and be better than whom I was! When I was little I loved to run…

One year ago today, the first ever Greeley Cross Country Championships was hosted, a 5k race at Josephine Jones Park between the five high schools in Greeley, Colorado- Frontier Academy, Greeley West, University Schools, Northridge, and Greeley Central. Last year Frontier placed first at the meet in the boys race. However, since then their top runners graduated and the Central boys became a real threat to many teams. Although today was mainly a way for Central to come out on top, I wanted redemption from the poor performance I gave at that race. Last year.…

I’m starting over again anew something different now. The last run was great while it lasted. Day one back at practice was pretty rough, hitting balls endlessly at the range brought upon old bad habits. It made me realize how far away I was from my former swing, the consistency, strength, and concentration it had brought me. I had now found myself with a rugged backswing and an upbeat tempo.…

“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…
