At last, we emerged into the designated cat room. From floor to ceiling there stood 2-part cages for the cats to pace in, and an elongated bowl split in half, one half for food, and the other for water. It was significantly quieter than the dog’s room, and all that was to be heard was the sound of a short grey-haired woman with circular glasses telling an interested buyer not to hold the cats a certain way. Immediately to our left was one of the biggest domestic cats I’d ever seen. A regal looking black feline covered in scars sat with his paws folded, striking yellow eyes half closed as he seemed to stare us down. His papers read “mittens”, striked out, with the name “Bagheera” scribbled in its place. I giggled at the name and placed my fingers
