Lets start at the begining okay. It was around 4:45, me, my sister and my dad were playing with our neighbors. At that moment all I could feel was my right arm being crushed by the dogs enormous mouth yanking me around. With my left arm wrapped around the dog’s throat I could feel the dog’s thick fur around his neck. The only way I was going to get out of this was to throw myself down with the dog on the concrete as I fell to the ground on top of the dog he released hit bite. After falling to the ground I ran to the open garage nearby. At that moment I realized all the pain at once, I pulled up my sleeve and saw my bloody, disgusting arm. Then Mr.Steve ran in the garage and my dad after him, Mr.Steve called 911 and my dad got a towel and wrapped it around my arm. The pain was unbearable and you can say it was like my arm was on fire. After the paramedics came my dad drove me to the emergency room, after a hour of surgery my arm was back together with fourteen stitches and some medicine. After that I couldn’t use my arm for three days. Now I am very nervous around other dogs. I actually don't trust any other dog but mine. I hope I can get past this fear but I will never be

Just checking in to see how your dog duties are coming along. I hope Emma is healing and that Diesel hasn’t eaten anyone yet. Our Foster dog almost died, was diagnosed with either/both leukemia and a stomach blockage of some sort, and then made a full recovery. We had a chance to have him put down, but I decided to give him more time and brought him home from the hospital with a prescription for Prednisone, which was expected to extend his life by maybe another 6 weeks. He’s in his third week now and, other than the shaved legs and belly, seems perfectly normal.…

Rough Draft We walked down the aisle passing by cage after cage, listening to the deafening sound of hundreds of dogs barking. Cheryl, the vintner coordinator, tried to tell us about some of the dogs, but with the amount of noise all we could do was nod and pretend like we understood. I kept my eyes open for dogs that would be fun to walk after our orientation. And out of the corner of my eye I saw a ghost of a dog.…

What my dog has taught me Humans are basically social animals, and in learning to coexist more peacefully, our pets could teach us a thing or two. Having been a dog owner since the age of nine, I can claim that a lot of growing and maturing goes on during that timeframe. Pets have this ability to teach people things that even humans cannot.…
