Obama State Of The Union Speech Analysis

I, Marie Curie, agree with what Barack Obama says in his State of the Union speech in 2014. He has many great points, especially about education. I am also very happy to hear that more and more people are obtaining an education. Something like this would have never occurred when I was a kid. After elementary school, I went to a school that prepared Polish people to become teachers. I was not allowed to go to an unversity, even though I was really intelligent. It is great to hear that so many people are receiving degrees from college. At the time, Russians had invaded Poland and they did not want us to be well educated, therefore I could not attend university in Poland.

I believe that each and every person should have the chance to get an amazing education. An education is always extremely important. Without an education, I would have never been able to receive a Nobel Prize in Physics with Pierre Curie and Antoine-Henri Becquerel for discovering polonium and radium.

In addition, I agree with how Barack Obama says that he wants children to have similar opportunities compared to him and his wife. It would have been nice if everyone had the same opportunities in Poland. The Russians had way more chances at things than the Polish. If it weren’t for them, then I wouldn’t have had to move to Paris and starve, though I did rather enjoy Paris. I believe that we should allow people to have equal chances at education, since it is so crucial in life to have an education. Absolutely nobody should be left out of receiving an excellent education.

Also, it is fascinating to hear about numerous companies working together to help students out. I’m not quite sure what high-speed broadband is, but by the way he talks about it it sounds like it's a good thing. I’m happy to hear that times are improving in the academic world and that so many things are going

Throughout the years, education has had many different perspectives and the education system has been changing. Education has been changing for the better because of past difficulties. That is what Paulo Freire and Horace Mann wanted to do, they wanted to change education for the better. Bush’s speech comforted the devastated nation by telling us acts of heroism and by telling us that we were going to get the men who did it. He wanted to comfort the nation because we were all affected by the tragedy of September 11th. He knew that we were confused about who did this and why anyone would ever do this. He comforted us by saying that the world was with us, supporting us and that we would never forget our nation’s national anthem playing at places such as Buckingham Palace, the streets of Paris and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. Knowing that the world’s prayers and support was with us reminded us that the entire world felt for us in the face of this tragedy.…

In the eulogy for the honorable reverend Clementa Pinckney, President Obama shows us the good use of the rhetorical analysis. In this analysis of the speech I will be discussing the use of ethos, pathos, logos. Obama starts the speech showing us that there is an emotional connection between him and his audience, this creates pathos. Obama adds “scripture tells us,” this part makes him credible for the audience because he is talking to people in a church and he brought a citation from the bible. Then in the next paragraph he starts saying about how good of a person Clem was and this created an increase in the affection of the people to the reverend.…

Education is one of the most powerful tools to have in today’s society, especially because of what it has taken for African-Americans to have the right to attend school or even learn how to read and write for that matter. Many persons sacrificed their lives for those who are able to go to integrated schools today and be given the same opportunities as any other student regardless of skin color. Being able to achieve a higher education is a great deal for African-Americans. Black men and women coming together to get a decent education to become better people in the world and stand for what took years of fighting for are why education is valued and taken very seriously.
