For as long as there have been good actions and intent in this world, there has also been bad and malevolent intent. Whether by groups of people or a single individual, negative actions may even happen with good intent. In the case of the Mafia however, it has cause negative impact long before the 1920’s. However, there is something about the 1920’s that make the negative impact even more noticeable. Not only did affect the prohibition era it also left negative impacts even after that.

Not only that but they have also spread to multiple areas across the U.S. and throughout other countries such as Canada. They also collaborate with other organized crime groups, especially in drug trafficking. Needless to say, drug trafficking is not something any country wishes to have as it can effect both a person’s home life as well as their involvement and behavior in society. Though with the Mafia, they never limit themselves with the possible gains they might receive; Illegal gambling, corruption, extortion, kidnapping, fraud, counter fitting, murders, bombings, and weapons trafficking. The initial unity of the Sicilian people to protect themselves against their enemies. In that time, the word ‘mafia’ was used to mean manly. However, by the 1920’s the meaning of the term had done a complete 180. Instead of the manly intention of the word, it now transitioned to refer to a group of organized criminals. What is a specialization for the Sicilian Mafia is in heroin trafficking, political corruption, and military arms trafficking to just name a few of the horrible things associated with the Mafia. They are also known to engage into other areas of crime. With a rough estimate of 2,500, it is considered the most powerful and the most powerful and the most active Italian organized crime group in the U.S. They also are well known for attacking people in high positions of power. For American society, La Cosa Nostra is the top runner for organized criminal threat. ‘Ndrangheta was formed in the 1860’s when a group of Sicilians was banished from the island by the Italian government. Needless to say, one can easily imagined the reason as to why they were banished. For this group there is a rough estimation of 100-200 members within the U.S. but mostly in the New York and Florida area. Despite of its Italian roots, it had been considered a separate organization for many years. With such centralized crime in such areas as New York, the inevitability of turf wars caused much strife between other groups and
