Most children acquire to run around with other kids, play outside until it’s time to come in for the night or even to attend gym class with their classmates, but my childhood was restricted due to having leukemia and drew my attention to much more: a passion and an insatiable curiosity for always learning. Despite facing the overwhelming challenges of the leukemia, there was nothing that could keep me out of school! In result, my intellectually curiosity expanded and became the fuel to my passion for learning inside and outside of the classroom—learning from everything I do. Ultimately I became infatuated with learning; leading to making a college education highly important to me. Attending college is the main goal to achieve for advancement to a life of stability and satisfaction. I discovered that success requires finding ways to keep your mind stimulated. The best way for me to keep my mind stimulated is through learning- attending college and using the other educational resources available. I’ve always been told, “Success should not be defined by how much money you make, instead about what you learn in life to become successful.” The genuine way to become rich and successful is through dedication and wisdom. In essence, leading a successful life is my utmost desire for securing a solid foundation for the future of my daughter. The essential purpose of having a college education is to be a stimulating, encouraging visual leader to the one person I idolize most in life, my daughter. With her now attending school, I felt it was essential to not just preach to her about how important having an education is but to show her. I’ve always lived by the famous Sir Francis quote “Knowledge is power!” (Wiki Quotes, 2015) Knowledge is what keeps me young and current in today’s society.
