However, many companies are removing underpaid positions, so they would not have to pay more than what’s necessary even though it is state mandated. For instance, in Florida, many Walmart’s are reducing the number of customer service checkout lanes and increasing the number of self-checkout lanes. By getting rid of the customer service checkout lanes this decrease the number of employees, so they would not have to pay their workers minimum wage. The many employees relieved of their duties will no longer receive their paychecks and bring in revenue by paying for medication, food, and groceries. The money would be dispersed elsewhere, however many employers keep a certain number of employees per store to work the machinery just in case it malfunctions. I feel hardworking individuals constantly are overlooked and can be very discouraging when overlooked and underpaid, and many Americans have mutual
