I heard of yoga before and I know it is a form of exercise, many people from around the world do yoga, and the exercise seems very popular. I am not the person to exercise too much, I may do some work outs every now and then, but I hardly work out like I know I should. Since I have to do yoga for my class assignment, it is not all that bad, because I have wanted to exercise more, but I never took out time in my day to start it. I feel this will be good for me, though I am not really excited, I am also not dreading the assignment, I feel neutral about doing the exercises. At least I will be able to say “yeah, I have done yoga before,” because sometimes people bring yoga up in conversations, but I never truly understood …show more content…
I felt aches in my body from exercising muscles that were not exercised in a long time. I felt soreness in my stomach and thigh area the most. I had a timer set for seven minutes in the beginning. Since yoga was new to me, I felt a little uncomfortable at first. As time went on, I got better with my balance and I kept slowly increasing the amount of minutes for my yoga practice. I kept telling my mom that I would start eating healthier and exercising once I turned eighteen, but I kept putting it off. With this assignment, I was basically forced to do exercising for a short amount of time, once I felt the soreness; I realized how unhealthy I really was. Though people are skinny does not mean they are healthy, because I am skinny but it is obvious I was out of shape. I also have a health class because of the major I am going in, my teacher really wants everyone in the class to stay active, she says people who exercise will most likely live longer than those who do not. Small actions such as exercise is really helpful, though it seems kind of worthless in the beginning, but great results will begin to happen such as health improvements and being fit if people keep up with the basic skill. I learned to start off with baby steps when making new changes. If this assignment was to do thirty minutes of yoga day and night, I believe not many people would have kept up with the practice, because not everyone in the class are athletic or use to exercising , so starting off small was the best action. I feel the world will be a better place with yoga because people will become more aware of themselves and other living things round them. My two weeks of doing yoga taught me a lot; this is the end of my observations and responses from the
