Clawson was very informative, and to the point. Her main explanation was to show me how helpful and important the HOPE house is to anyone who is in need of help or food. The way she answers all of my questions is very accurate and organized. She shows me first examples of how they help the less fortunate people, and then she showed me the types of foods that are in the pantry and how they are organized in the order in which the people need them. She described how they have different foods for every special needs, like special group of foods for the homeless and diabetics. In order to clearly make me understand the importance of the program she gave me hard copies of information that had recipes that are made to cook healthy, even a children’s book on how to educate children in eating the right foods. The order in which these facts are given to us is by showing us the problem that’s occurring which is, the reality in which healthier foods are much more expensive than foods that are not as healthy for you, all of the unhealthy and dangerous foods are made easier for people to get their hands on. The benefits on food stamps and how they were created to help families who needed food is mentioned and how it affects the lives of those who have it. Then we are shown how the prices work and what the ingredients are when it comes to a dinner plate of healthy foods, also the time it takes to prepare it and the frequency of consumption. In order for the author of this article to get their point across they made sure to demonstrate more than one example on how and why low-income Americans can’t afford a healthy diet with the money they have. This article relates to my sources in a way that discusses the issues of the pricing of healthy foods and how food stamps are not enough for an entire family to eat a healthy meal due to the high prices that are put on organic and real healthy
