LeBow Event Reflection #1
University 101 Since my freshman year began, I have had the pleasure of attending two LeBow coordinated events that have made a huge impact on my experience here at Drexel University. The first event I attended was the Dress for Success event on September 29, and the second was the Dinner with the Dean event on October 5. Both events offered a unique way for me to learn more about myself and my school. On September 29, I attended the Dress for Success event in LeBow Hall. I am an individual who is enjoys placing a huge emphasis on the way I present myself to the world by the way I dress. That being said, I naturally enjoyed being able to learn more about men’s fashion. At this event, I learned a few new fashion concepts and tips that I never knew before attending. I was afforded the great opportunity to meet Dean Linnehan, spend time with all of my GLC friends, and eat delicious food that was provided for us. Meeting and sharing a meal with Dean Linnehan was both an honor and a privilege. My friends, Nathan, Mark, Kevin and I were able to speak the Dean about how we are enjoying our times here at Drexel and how different life in Philadelphia is from our hometowns. As always, being able to spend time with my GLC friends was great. Any time we get to spend together in a social atmosphere, outside of our academic endeavors, is always a good time. Further, the food that was provided for us was a culinary delight. Many countries such as Greece and Turkey were represented in the food spread, thus, adding to the global

Governor’s School Last summer, I attended governor's school west where three hundred and twenty-five bright and open-minded students from all across North Carolina gathered for five and a half weeks in a college campus setting. Presently, it is hard to find people who actually have an original and unique sense of style. For example, young girls will rarely ever show off their interests and hobbies. They would rather express attitude in the way they dress. I must admit that it is difficult to avoid the temptation of dressing like everybody else. Although being a bit hesitant to go with my schedule and the time of the lecture not in agreement, I was able to go and was more than pleased with the lecture. With the genuine claps given and all the recaps several professors and Chittam retold there wasn’t a better ambient in such return to the university he so strongly aided. With a general summary of his life taking half of the lecture and the other half reminiscing the past with stories Chittam was more than happy to be back. When I was little, I wanted to be a chemist. I imagined myself in the lab coat and with goggles on, carefully pouring electric blue liquids and jade green foam back and forth into various containers, until something had exploded and I had discovered the best way to make flowers the size of people. As I grew up, I lost this fantasy, but I gained more knowledge on how I wanted to influence the world. Funnily enough, I discovered what I really wanted to do when I started working at Chick-fil-A during the summer before my sophomore year. All of my friends had warned me against working in fast food, quoting horrible smells and ridiculous customers and tons of grease.…

I had the opportunity of participating in the 2016 Our Beloved Community Fly-In Program and those two days have forever made an impact in my life. Beginning with the welcoming environment of my host and her friends, I was able to experience the daily life of a Lafayette student by exploring the campus and the historic town of Easton. I was honored to meet and listen to a spoken word performed by Taaha Mohamedali, sit in symposiums that gave me a wakeup call about refugees in Syria, and explore a new corner of the United States within a matter of days. Inspired by my fellow OBC friends, I learned to define what a community—being able to bond with eight of my host’s friends while we walked to Wawa in excitement for me to try my first cup of…
