Is human nature naturally good or evil? This is a question that I continually asked myself when reading Into the Woods and Lord of the Flies. Throughout the books, my answer swapped, but The Witch and Ralph showed me that human nature is naturally positive. In Into the Woods, The Witch is Rapunzel’s guardian who has many powers and cursed the Baker’s family with infertility. The Witch blinds the prince, locks up Rapunzel, and curses the Baker’s family. However, her intentions are right. The only reason she does this to keep safe herself and Rapunzel. She adores Rapunzel to the point that she will do anything to safeguard her.
