Register to read the introduction… Whether you are a part of a social group or on a group project for school or work everyone has the want and need to be included, when group members don’t feel like they have fully been accepted in to the group they can become withdrawn and anti-social which would lead them to not be a contributing part of the team. Having a diverse group of people on a team can help a team more effectively and efficiently reach their common goal. If everyone on the team had the exact same life experiences, was the same age and the same culture they more than likely would have the same general way to approach the group’s common goal. Having diversity on the team can help generate more ideas because everyone’s life experiences and cultural differences have helped form the way they think and the way that they solve problems. Roles, needs and diversity affect a group’s teamwork immensely because if members aren’t performing their specific goal and only focusing on a self-centered role the groups work will either multiply for the other members of the group or the group’s common goal might not be met. This is evident when I deal with people as I consider myself to be open to differences in characters, beliefs, and opinions. When I’m working with others, I value when people have different perspectives and approaches to problems that I wouldn’t be able to think of because diversity in thinking facilitates problem solving and goal attaining. While I am more of a practical thinker who focuses on maintaining order and staying objectively informed, I appreciate when teammates or coworkers can deliver a more ingenious or inventive addition to the process. Inclusivity also proves essential in maintaining productivity and engagement. If everyone is made feel like they are part of the process and that their participation has an impact on the progress, participation and productivity will be maintained, if not…

As a collaborator, my strengths were that I made sure that everything got done on time and that it was done right. My weaknesses were that I didn’t really talk to my group as much as I should have and I kind of didn’t put responsibility on anyone but myself. Group work requires talking to others, otherwise you’ll just pull all of the weight and the other group members will get a free ride. Honestly, I feel comfortable controlling the whole process of group work and have people just follow what I say so I know that things are getting done right. This is probably not good, but I don’t feel like I can trust groups because a lot of the time people don’t do what they’re supposed to.…
