Did it brighten your face? I bet you are now finding the humor in life

Let me tell you a statement that I found quite funny.

“In most cases the children and grandparents are closely bonded. The reason for this is because they have a common enemy”

How about this wording?Did you smile? I bet you smiled!

Now it is another moment for another funny anecdote from life. My little brother is abroad doing his internship, after passing the undergraduate studies with excellent results. But I recall and am nostalgic of the moments we shared the time he was here. I was fond of sending him on errands mainly to buy me computer accessories since I thought it would give me the opportunity to take short breaks. On one occasion I sent him to shopping complex which is just across the street to buy a printer cartridge and a laptop clone table. I had no clue of how much these things cost. I gave him Tk5000 , the amount I thought could be the maximum price for the two items. Well, when I was going outside the gates of our complex about an hour later, I met my brother returning with a smile written all over his face.He gladly said,” I have your stuff with me.”I asked immediately,” how much did you pay for it?”He replied, “ The cartridge cost Tk1100 and the cable Tk100. And the balance goes straight into my pockets!” Well , I was very attentive: the prices price of the stuff I needed were so low but still I got neither. I just laughed out happily. Did my brother take the stuff with him back home together with the money in his pocket. I suppose he sang well too. Does this make you

The present study investigated the possible relationship between self-defeating humor and the use of humor as a coping strategy. It also predicts that the use of humor as a coping strategy is negatively correlated with self-defeating humor Meaning, for example, if an individual has a lower self-defeating humor score, the lower the usage of humor as a coping strategy. However, the results of the present study do not support the idea of a negative correlation. Instead, there is a weak, but significant positive correlation between self-defeating humor and the use of humor as a coping strategy, rather than the negative correlation between the two measures.…

While on the refugee boat lining up to get soup, I tried to hide my face, due to people not particularly liking women. While waiting in the line, to get soup three smaller kids were behind me complaining about being hungry, I when suddenly my blanket fell off revealing me, everyone one was staring at me. I was just wearing my usual clothes shorts, t-shirt with a sparkly pattern on it, my favourite lace-up construction boots, make-up which included my green lipstick. Then a little girl cried out ‘it’s not fair’ then she started to say something but one of the older boys covered her mouth and asked for soup but he got none so they sat behind me and they boy gave her a lecture about something.…

Does comedy help promote social change? Ramon Lopez, Iain Ellis and the documentary Tickling Giants demonstrate how comedy has had some social change but has not had a positive impact on society nor promoted great social change. Ellis discusses about how The Talk Show brought about a change in society but not a positive change in which the comedian expected since the nation returned to where they started or even worse. While Lopez discuss how the comedian Jon Stewart does not promote positive social change but rather degrading change in society. I agree that comedy can have a social effect but disagree that comedians can bring about a positive change.…
