Human Resource Management 2020: Technology, Collaboration, and Channelizing
The world of business is changing at a fast pace which is throwing a challenge at all the human resource professionals to be ready for a survival check. The traditional approaches are dying out fast and new trends are setting in. The human resource department is no longer for those who only recruite, negotiate and conduct employee engagement surveys but it has assumed many new roles. By the end of this decade we will have entirely new roles assigned to and expected from these professionals. Let’s have a look at what are the major changes.

The operational roles of HR will include outsourcing and also shared services. Roles like talent acquisition and head hunting will be totally outsourced to specialist service providers. The transactional role and traditional roles both will be outsourced. It will be more technology based.
Outsourcing will also result in a downsized structure of the HR department. By 2020 companies will start outsourcing payroll management and other HR processes to third parties Employees within the company will also become more self reliant and will do most of the information filling jobs themselves.
3) The strategic role like talent management will be of top priority and will be of prime importance to the HR department. HR will focus on performance management of the internal staff and work around ways to bring the best out. Needless to say it will require employees with good skills in creativity and innovation. The responsibility to break cultural barriers and make ones company a truly global company is one of the major responsibilities of HR which they will share with all other departments.
There will be a need to hire HR specialists in diverse management, as we will have a mix or work force from all over the globe in our company. Different nationalities under the same brand or in the same office would call for building a more harmonious and peaceful workplace. For this HR department would have to work on providing such experts to the company. Companies need to develop leaders capable of generating growth and effectively managing a multicultural workforce. A great understanding of the macro world and realities of the social structure will be of paramount importance.
7) HR will share roles with other departments-Strategic marketing is one sphere where HR will work together with marketing. The target for HR professionals will be the specific area where they can get the desired work force, People who fall within the draft of eligible employees for the company. For this they will start taking up roles of Brand or Image building through the social media and campaigns.HR and Marketing will go hand in hand as the era now belongs to the social media more than anything
