Screech! The wheels of the plane finally touched down at Logan airport in Boston after an eight hour flight. After we got off the plane, we still had an hour-and-a-half drive ahead of us. Great. But I knew that it was worth it because we were going to Cape Cod to visit my Grandparents.

Cape Cod has beautiful beaches and beautiful weather. The beaches have the silkiest sand, and the bluest skies. Regular visitors and locals refer to Cape Cod as, simply, The Cape. For all of the years that I have been going to The Cape, there have only been five or six rainy days. The temperature is never too hot, or too cold, and the water is perfect on the beaches. I have never had one boring day at The Cape. But when we arrived at our destination,

I will never forget the taste of this delicious lobster roll. Of all the delicious food I have had while visiting The Cape, the lobster roll is by far my favorite. Another day at The Cape had come to an end. I actually enjoy going to bed at The Cape, because it means another great day will be waiting for me when I wake up.

Going to the beach is basically what we did every day, until we decided to visit Plymouth Rock. Our whole family was really excited to see where the Pilgrims landed, but it was really anti-climatic. It was basically just a broken rock no bigger than a school desk. But I still thought that it was amazing that this rock was the first thing the Pilgrims saw. Another memorable day.

Two days before we left, my dad and I went on a bike ride. We rode for about ten miles before turning back and riding another ten. Lets just say that I got my workout for the day! As the daughter of parents who love to travel, I’ve had the pleasure of travelling across Canada and America as well as a few other countries from a young age. I have visited the loud and bustling streets of Tokyo and the ethereal gardens in Kyoto, stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon, walked the strip in Las Vegas, and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean in Martha’s Vineyard. Although I should be able to look back on a childhood filled with events and memories from trips, I find it difficult to recall most vacations without a visual prompt. When I flip through old family photo albums, I don’t recall much more than what is shown in their pages. The outdated clothing, the people, and the locations are seen in the images, and therefore…

At night in the summertime it is even more peaceful and the scents and air are different. The air feels warm yet breezy and filled with the scent of pine trees and bark. The water feels a bit warmer because the sun has been beating on it all day. You can’t really see anything below you, and that’s what makes it awesome because it creates a sense of curiosity, but a bit freaky at the same time. Laying on my back in the water and looking up at the stars and the moon, is just a pretty sight.…

Boating into in the Wellfleet Cove in Cape Cod, the first thing I noticed was how the towering sand dunes on the peninsula protected the still, glassy waters within it from wind. The cove was a sanctuary from my anxious life I led at home. My anxiety causes me to have to look at the future as an overwhelming heap of events with a variety of possible outcomes. I remind myself everyday to take things one step at a time so as not to get ahead of myself in a moment. But in the cove, I need not worry about the future because time ceases to exist there.…
