The New Deal was a very dramatic departure from previous American traditions. Many organizations were formed to help with the immediate financial crisis. The New Deal gave away jobs and money, abandoned the gold standard, and showed people that the economic failure wasn’t their fault.
Both Hoover and Roosevelt openly addressed the financial failure was happening and didn’t try to hide it. They did this through many organizations providing help to people such as the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA), the Federal Housing Act (FHA) and the National Recovery Administration (NRA). People were fully aware of the crisis, as they had gone from successful stockbrokers to beggars on the street. These types of organizations helped
