I surprisingly found this week’s assignments fairly interesting and easy for me to understand if I took my time to read and analyze what the writer was saying. I really liked that "Sandman" used letters throughout the story instead of just a normal writing style. It added interest because it was not just a normal story to me. Both Hoffman and Gogol used the double perspective in their writing, which is still used today. "Sandman" gave me a strange feeling that once Coppelius had left after Nathaniel's father did, it wouldn't be the last time we saw him. During the "Nevsky Avenue", he started with two men living similar lives who set about on the same journey yet had different endings. I felt like the stories showed the men having a sense of
