After reading the topic, I like to brainstorm my ideas that I would like to write about. This step might even include researching the topic more using the internet or book sources, if it is a research paper or essay. I start the bibliography in this step, if outside sources are used. Secondly, I group my thoughts together, this would create my body paragraphs. This way I can have connecting ideas or thoughts together. Coffey. Until the time of my senior English, the teachers I had before Coffey was not as zealous and exciting about writing like her. I believe that Coffey’s attitude about writing assignments we had to do was the reason why I fell back in love with writing. Unlike any other teacher, Coffey put all assignments into perspective and how the topic mattered to our lives. This technique of teaching or mindset changed why I wrote. It wasn’t just about ink on a page, it was my opinion, my voice and how that mattered in the world around me. The history of my writing experience is at bare minimum, yet rather expected out of a teen who went through public school just trying to the get the grade in order to graduate. Going through different stages of my life and my writing journey, pieces like the Valentine’s story and “Missionary Works” has shaped me into the artist I am today.
