The management of Sainsbury is aware that they need to enhance the performance of their employees, and therefore, they have recently started to implement the High Performance Working (HPW) concept. The HPW basically means having employee autonomy and involving them in decision making, supporting employees to improve their performance, rewarding them for good performance, and sharing and knowledge and information with employees in order to make them feel that they are part of the company.
HPW can be implemented in various ways within these 4 areas. To begin with, in employee autonomy and involvement, the corporation can start with creating teams among employees and start giving them employees in order to make them feel that they are in power

5 employees were in favour of the fact that Sainsbury should focus on improving employees’ future whilst 5 employees were in favour that no improvement was required and everything was working just fine (Hewison, & Holden, 2012). The employees who were in favour of the improvement believed that if the corporation adopted the HPW concept then it would do wonders for the employees. They said that HPW concept allows the corporation to help employees in developing their capabilities in better sense. These employees further said that training would allow the individuals to be able to understand their job in a better way. One of the employees among this group was of the view that if the company is bent on initiating online shopping, then it should come up with some kind of incentive for employees to gain commission as well. This group was in strict favour of the implementation of the HPW concept. This group suggested various ways in which HPW concept could be implemented in Sainsbury. To begin with, the top management should start with commitment towards the employees in terms of resources and communication. The company should have transparent communication so that everyone understands what is being said and what should be done.
