This case study will focus on Hector a 35 year old Hispanic male. Hector was seriously injured in an auto accident. Due to his injuries he might be suffering from other problems because one of his legs is permanent damage. The case study will discuss the stages of the problem management. The purpose of this case study is to develop a proper treatment plan for Hector so his depression and anger issues can lower down, and to be involved with his family and not feel shame of his disability or worthless.
The primary issue that Hector is addressing is that due to the car incident, he had 5 months ago he is not the same person. His leg and arm are not the same; he needs to depend on a cane to walk and limps. He has been an

Eye contact is very important is his situation because the counselor wants to make sure they understand the gestors of the client and their expressions as he is opening up. Due to a life change of the client and having a hard time adapting to the change it is very important for counselor to do eye contact, so the client can feel they are being heard. According to Steuwe et al. (2012)“Mutual eye-to-eye contact is a crucial element of social interactions as it allows us to identify the intentions and emotions of others The ability to attribute mental states of others, such as desires, beliefs, opinions, perceptions or attitudes”. Therefore, providing eye contact might help Hector open up and feel comfortable with the counselor.
In conclusion, working with a client that has suffered from a trauma and a life change can be very difficult because they have a lot of other problem attach. The problems can cause serious problem that might lead them to feel depressed and isolated them self and consume a substance use. It is very important for a counselor to work in stages with the client that has suffer from a seriously injury because it is hard for them to adapted, especially when they were the funders of their family. The counselor needs to work together with the client to help the client see every problem they are
