Along with providing the best care for our patients, HCR ManorCare, as stated in the “Standards of Business Conduct” expects nothing less than the best from its employees. This document covers everything they expect ethically and professionally from its employees while providing the information they need to ensure they are informed of the repercussions if the policies are not followed.

Being a healthcare company HCR ManorCare is very careful on its wording when it comes to the codes listed previously and communication because it wants everyone to be aware that ANY type of violation in the key points above may lead to termination. I believe even though HCR ManorCare doesn’t lists all types of communication (i.e. desktops, laptops, iPhone, tablets etc.) they specifically ensure that they specify and written, verbal, and electronic belongs to HCR ManorCare and any information disclosed improperly without authority can result in legal action against the Company and the employee. HCR ManorCare doesn’t spend a hefty amount of time on ethics in communication as the key points above are also ethically driven and address all aspects of the company, not just …show more content…
As a for-profit company HCR ManorCare strives to ensure quality care is provided while still ensuring the interest of its owners. By furthering, extending and adapting to technology HCR ManorCare is using current technology to make communication within its company more effective. It is not restricting the use of technology as many companies are, it embracing it in order to reduce costs and to maintain its position in medical field. Technology has become widely accepted in the workplace and any forms of communication with the use of technology are addressed in this “Standards of Business Conduct” booklet. The last revision made to this booklet was in 2013 however even with us being in 2015, I still feel all the information is relevant to today’s modern workplace.
