Hater Danny Mccoyne Character Analysis

Danny McCoyne, the protagonist of Hater by David Moody and I are alike in many ways. We both share the same view of the world, are viewed by the world in similar ways and I would respond in a comparable way to the central conflict of the novel. Therefore, I believe given the chance, we could be friends. In the novel Danny is an employee for a parking fine processing office. In his town people are randomly attacking each other out of nowhere. People on the street randomly start killing. People in his town are very scared and many barricade themselves within their houses. With the murders going around out of nowhere I would probably do the same as Danny.

When the conflict arose of random people murdering other random people on the street for no apparent reason Danny was in shock. He did not know what to do at first then he realized it wasn't this one occurrence it was happening all over. Danny reacts to the situation by hiding him and his family from the savages. He does whatever it takes to protect them. But he is also scared one of them will try something.

If I was in the situation Danny was placed in I would take a completely different approach I would realize that there is no more order or law and that everybody is killing each other. I would go complete savage and just take everybody out. I would be an army of one because at any time anybody could turn on you and randomly kill you. I would show no remorse and do whatever it took to survive.

Me and danny could be friends in this world because we have a lot of things in common. We stay to ourselves and do what we need to support ourselves or our family. In the world from the book after people started going crazy and killing each other I would not be able to be his friend I would rob him and his family in my act to survive because anybody could become a killer so you would have to do what you have to do to
