My first leader was facilitative and was very empathetic, in which she has inspired me to take charge when I am up to lead. Subjective conflict or professional disagreements can be a third source of negative effects on the group. However, as conversation sprinkling nonstop, I do not think anybody catches the incongruity. If I can assume, I would say it was the leader that needed to carefully work out their own conflicts and develop a leadership style suitable for the group before engaging in a field that he-she has no knowledge or no credibility of. I thought the leader could work out important theoretical differences before taking on a group or mention a subject without validation to back it up.
