Getting my driver’s license was an accomplishment of my own and I’m proud to say that I accomplished my goal. When I was 17 I got my license and there were many obstacles I faced during the process of getting my permit and then later on getting my license.
The first step I had to take was being enrolled in a student driver’s course where I had to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. (“Louisiana Teen Drivers Guide”) The law in the state of Louisiana states that Driver’s Ed is a requirement to get a driver’s license for teenagers and new adult drivers in many states. I took my Driver’s Ed course through my high school, Bossier High. The driver’s class helped me practice safe and defensive driving
