Gender Identity Rights: Gavin Grimm's Case

Although gender identity rights remain a controversial subject, I lean towards the side that desired the Supreme Court to hear Gavin Grimm’s case. In my humble opinion, I believe a person can achieve anything they desire, and that a person can be whomever they aspire to be. Transgenders are included, they feel very strongly about this issue and fight for who they are. It appears the government is treating people with gender identity issues just as colored people were treated in the past. Sadly, they are discriminating against them and not giving them the same rights as everyone else; they should not be required to fight for them. At this point, she is still not allowed to utilize the restroom that she desires to use, she can only use the nurse's restroom. Do you know how that makes them feel? These people are confident and strong, it takes so much to get up and do what they are doing, and our government is stripping their self-confidence away, making them feel as though they are outcasts to society. Everyone should be protected by the law as well as treated equally in the eyes of the law, including transgender people. Transgender identity is not a mental illness, as many people think and it, it cannot be cured with medication; they are humans entitled to equal rights. Frankly, things need to change, the Supreme Court should not discriminate against transgender people because they identify with the opposite sex as when they were born; they should be allowed to use the bathroom they identify
