I believe in second chances, everyone should deserve a second chance in life. If this individual has been served six years of his life in a prison for a murder and during all these past years his record has showed nothing but good behavior, I would give him an opportunity a second chance to reentry into the community again.
4. First of all, I would place the authority over the department of corrections. The parole board members should always continue as an independent body with its administrative laws, rules and regulations by the government. The parole board should be consider as the main authority over any private agency. A private company I believe should be designed to provide good services for the individuals to help them before the reentry into the community, and after being discharged as well.
5. Some of the public’s attitudes over criminals have change over time, but the truth is that there’s still the majority of the people with negative feelings towards released criminals. People still believe that criminals should be punish with harsh and longer sentences to pay for their crime. People think like: “once a criminal, always a criminal” I don’t agree with this. Public has a dominant perception towards future release individuals in this society. Once they know the individual has been release from prison and trying to reintegrate into the community by looking for employment, looking for a place to live, people start making a social exclusion and that’s not helping
